Zalando To Debut Fashion Assistant Powered by ChatGPT — Retail Bum

European eTailer Zalando is gearing up to introduce the first beta version of its digital fashion assistant, which will be powered by ChatGPT and made available across Zalando’s app and website.

The new offering seeks to enhance the overall experience of exploring and purchasing on the Zalando platform by making it easier for shoppers to navigate the vast collection of apparel, shoes and accessories on the Zalando platform. With help from the digital assistant, shoppers can even browse collections using their own language or fashion terms. For example, if a customer asks, “What should I wear for a wedding in Santorini in July?” Zalando’s fashion assistant can comprehend the event’s formality and the weather conditions at the location and provide written explanations with clothing recommendations accordingly.

Zalando’s fashion assistant also offers customers suitable product suggestions and can hold conversations to answer any follow-up questions.

The initial beta version of the feature will be accessible to a select group of customers by spring, with support available in both English and German. It will be available in Germany, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Austria.
