Wolverine Worldwide has named company veteran Chris Hufnagel as its new president.

Hufnagel has spent the last 14 years with the company, most recently having served as the president of Active Group and previously as the global brand president of Cat Footwear and Merrell. He has also held senior positions with leading fashion brands such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Gap, and Under Armour.

In the new position, Hufnagel will focus on leading strategy for the company’s portfolio of footwear brands and overseeing the consumer marketing and insights teams.

“I’m thrilled to become Wolverine Worldwide’s next president,” Hufnagel said in a statement.

“I look forward to working with our incredible team across our amazing portfolio of brands to drive sustainable growth for the company — leading with product innovation and building even stronger connections with our consumers around the world,” he said.

In addition to Hufnagel’s appointment, Wolverine Worldwide also announced two other key brand leadership appointments, including that of Janice Tennant as the global brand president of Merrell and Rob Griffiths as the global brand president of Saucony.

Tennant began her career with Wolverine Worldwide as the marketing chief of Cat Footwear in 2018 and has held the same position with Merrell since 2020. Meanwhile, Griffiths has been working with Wolverine Worldwide since 2013 and most recently served as the managing director of the company’s EMEA operations.
