Walmart’s charitable arm, the Walmart Foundation, is donating a total of $1 million to three organizations providing assistance to Afghan refugees and U.S. military veterans.

The recipients of the donation include No One Left Behind and the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, which are two organizations that are helping Afghanis that supported U.S. military operations in their country secure special immigration visas. In addition, the veterans-focused Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (T.A.P.S.) will also be receiving aid, which will help the organization expand the capacity of its 24/7 Military Survivor Helpline for veterans and their families.

“All of us have seen the horrific images coming out of Afghanistan, and as a company that is in every community almost throughout the country, we want to be there to help support not only our returning veterans from Afghanistan but those who stood side-by-side over so many years, supporting, protecting and fighting alongside our troops,” said Walmart Executive VP of Corporate Affairs Dan Bartlett.
