Tory Burch Opens Flagship Store On Mercer Street
Fashion brand, Tory Burch, has opened a new multilevel 6000-square-foot flagship store in New York’s SoHo district with each floor dedicated to ready-to-wear clothing, handbags as well as footwear and home goods.
The multilevel venue was designed in collaboration with Curiosity architect Gwenael Nicolas. It draws inspiration from the brand’s namesake designer’s own home, featuring folk art, basketry as well as pottery created by female artists and local artisans.
While eCommerce now accounts for two-thirds of business for Tory Burch, the brand is also putting efforts into improving its physical store business as more consumers are returning to shopping in stores.
The new flagship store is located at 151 Mercer Street, near the fashion brand’s former NoLiTa store on Elizabeth Street, which opened in 2004 when Burch first launched her brand. Tory Burch currently has two other stores in New York, one at Hudson Yards and another at Brookfield Place. Overall, the brand has 322 freestanding stores worldwide.
To mark the store’s opening, Burch has created two new 151 Mercer handbags, a classic crescent and a deconstructed shoulder bag. In addition, the brand has also released a limited-edition Lee Radziwill double bag.
