There’s a New Waitlist in Town: Louis Vuitton’s Neverfull Tote — Retail Bum
The iconic Neverfull by Louis Vuitton is no longer accessible for direct online or in-store purchases.
The coveted coated canvas tote can now only be obtainable through a waitlist system instead. When a potential buyer receives notification of the bag’s availability, they must complete the purchase within 24 hours at a physical store. Failure to do so will result in the bag being offered to the following individual on the waitlist.
While the limited edition bag will still be accessible both in physical stores and online, acquiring the bag through regular retail channels is set to become a lot more challenging, with Louis Vuitton focusing on building hype around its leather goods with the release of limited-edition collections.
The move follows luxury brands’ continued efforts to employ scarcity tactics to elevate prices and enhance profit margins.
