The Vitamin Shoppe Launches In South Korea
The Vitamin Shoppe is expanding into the South Korean market with the launch of a directly-owned and operated eCommerce subsidiary.
“South Korea is one of the largest e-commerce markets in the world serving a digitally-savvy population, which aligns perfectly with our online launch strategy,” said Sharon Leite, CEO of The Vitamin Shoppe, in a company statement.
The expansion gives South Korean consumers access to an array of The Vitamin Shoppe’s health and wellness products, which can be delivered in three days on average to anywhere in South Korea from the United States.
The Vitamin Shoppe has launched in South Korea with a directly operated eCommerce site as well as branded digital storefronts on marketplace sites, such as Lotte.
Additionally, The Vitamin Shoppe has launched branded digital storefronts on 20 leading online marketplaces in South Korea, including 11st, Auction, Coupang, Domeggook, G9, Gmarket, Interpark, Lotte, Naver, Qoo10, Shinsegae and Smelchi.
“Korean consumers are highly health conscious and many customers have first discovered The Vitamin Shoppe while visiting the United States. They now have the ease and convenience of ordering directly from our South Korea website, as well as via our online marketplace partners. We look forward to adding brands, products, and services in South Korea as The Vitamin Shoppe continues to grow its international footprint in new growth markets.”
Currently, nearly 300 health and wellness products are available in South Korea from The Vitamin Shoppe’s proprietary brands, including The Vitamin Shoppe, Vthrive The Vitamin Shoppe, BodyTech and BodyTech Elite. In addition, consumers can also choose from hundreds of bundle packages that target specific wellness needs.
The South Korea launch marks The Vitamin Shoppe’s second foray into the Asia market. The health and wellness retailer opened two stores in Vietnam with a local partner under a national licensing agreement in January 2021. The company also currently has licensing agreements in place in Panama (8 stores), Guatemala (10 stores) and Paraguay (3 stores).
