Sweetgreen Tests Automated Technology at New Store — Retail Bum
Salad chain Sweetgreen has launched its first automated restaurant in Naperville, IL.
The new quick-service restaurant (QSR) location features sweetgreen’s Infinite Kitchen, which emphasizes better customer service and food quality by prioritizing the use of fresh ingredients, rapid delivery, and hospitable service.
The restaurant’s launch highlights the industry’s growing interest in cutting-edge technology and signals a step forward in the evolution of dining.
After acquiring Spyce in 2021, Sweetgreen has reportedly devoted the past 18 months to improving and customizing its tech capabilities. They have tested it alongside customers and team members to create a smooth experience that brings more individuals closer to wholesome and genuine food.
The new format adopted by Sweetgreen also creates efficiencies by enabling the in-store team to concentrate on preparing fresh food and providing intimate hospitality. Guests can witness the technology at work, from dispensing greens and dressing onto bowls and plates to the uniform distribution of ingredients and salad mixing. At the finishing station, team members add the final touches, such as a sprinkle of herbs or a scoop of avocado.
