Sustainable Leather Brand Native Dubai Launches On Farfetch

Luxury leather goods brand, Native Dubai, is now accessible on and Saudi luxury retailer Rubaiyat, the brand announced Wednesday.

The sustainability-focused brand was founded by husband and wife duo Rahul and Rachna and offers bags, shoes, and other accessories that take inspiration from Dubai’s traditional heritage and modern aesthetic.

The artisans involved in the manufacturing process combine skills, techniques and artistry passed on through generations and the brand’s designs.

Native Dubai’s launch on Farfetch comes at a time when the luxury marketplace is making moves to offer more sustainable brands and ways of shopping to consumers.

In July this year, Farfetch with an online consignment and thrift store, thredUp, to offer a donation program called FARFETCH Donate. The program helps shoppers to extend the lifecycle of their clothes while earning shopping credit and raising money for charity.

And last year, the marketplace the Farfetch Second Life store, where consumers can sell pre-owned luxury products.

Farfetch “was built on the premise of selling existing stock in small boutiques around the world — to better match supply and demand and reduce waste,” said Giorgio Belloli , the company’s chief commercial and sustainability officer at the time of the launch of the store.
