Instacart has announced a new partnership with Sprouts Farmers Market, a regional grocery chain, to further increase its business-to-business revenue through the adoption of its retail media services.

The partnership will utilize Instacart’s Carrot Ads solution, which was introduced over a year ago to enable players in the retail industry to sell advertising space on their owned and operated properties. It will give Sprouts access to Instacart’s ad tech and engineering team, a vast network of salespeople who work alongside its 6,000 advertisers, and valuable data insights.

In 2018, Sprouts and Instacart formed an initial partnership to provide same-day delivery services. Since then, the two companies have introduced curbside pickup options at almost all of the stores, enabled EBT and SNAP payments, and offered alcohol delivery and pickup services in certain states.

The latest collaboration between the two companies comes on the heels of Sprouts’ recent growth in sales, with the company registering a 6% year-over-year increase in sales to $1.7 billion in Q1. E-commerce orders accounted for approximately 12.2% of Sprouts’ total sales.
