Snapchat Partners With Ticketmaster To Match Users With Live Events
Snapchat has now announced a new partnership with Ticketmaster to enable users to discover live entertainment events near them using Snap Map.
Users can access the feature through Snap Minis, a third-party program found within the app’s chat section.
After users turn on the feature, they will be asked to fill out a brief survey to gauge their interests. Once completed, the app will display upcoming shows based on user preferences, which can be swiped left and right just like they would on dating applications.
When a Snapchatter lands on an event they are interested in, they can then see if any of their friends have also matched with the same event. Users can also invite their friends and create a guest list from the chat feature. Snapchatters can post the event to their story to see if anyone else is interested in attending. Once a user has officially decided to attend the event, they will then be redirected to Ticketmaster’s website to purchase tickets.
Users will also be able to browse upcoming events at nearby venues through a new layer found on the Snap Map.
The new Ticketmatcher Mini is rolling out in 21 countries, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
The move to partner with Ticketmaster marks the company’s first attempt to integrate and monetize Snap Map.
