Schiaparelli Opens Permanent Store in London — Retail Bum

Schiaparelli has opened its first permanent shop-in-shop location at Harrods, London.

The 1,500-square-foot store offers ready-to-wear clothes in addition to jewelry, accessories, and its signature padlock and face bags in a variety of colorways and styles.

The location has been designed to evoke the surrealist vibe of Schiaparelli’s Paris headquarters, where founder Elsa Schiaparelli worked alongside Swiss sculptor Alberto Giacometti, Spanish artist Salvador Dalí, and French interior designer Jean-Michel Frank.

“The unique position that Harrods occupies in the luxury space makes it the perfect destination for our first shop in the United Kingdom,” said Delphine Bellini, chief executive officer of Schiaparelli.

“Our shared sense of ultimate luxury, customer experience and the power of fantasy makes this partnership such an exciting proposition. We are looking forward to immersing the Harrods customer in the Schiaparelli ready-to-wear universe,” she added.

The store opening also highlights Harrods’ effort to attract new customers with limited-edition and exclusive products as the retailer reels from the end of duty-free shopping and a decline in international tourists.
