Scarlett Johansson Launches Plant-Powered Beauty Brand in the UK — Retail Bum
American actress Scarlett Johansson has launched her skincare line, The Outset, in the U.K. in partnership with Cult Beauty.
The brand was co-founded by Johansson and beauty industry veteran Kate Foster in 2022 to address acne and other skincare issues through gentle skincare formulas that strengthen and support healthy skin.
The Outset offers eight products made using Hyaluroset Complex, a naturally-derived alternative to hyaluronic acid, offering immediate nourishment to the skin and giving users a smooth and plump look.
“I saw that so many others could identify with my skin struggles,” Johansson said. My goal was to prove that gentle, barrier-nourishing products could deliver amazing results.”
“And it had to be easy, as effortless as slipping on your favorite white tee,” she added.
In the U.K., shoppers can buy the brand’s cleaning, prep, and moisturizing solutions through Cult Beauty, including Gentle Micellar Antioxidant Cleanser, Firming Vegan Collagen Prep Serum, and Nourishing Squalane Daily Moisturiser, as well as Smoothing Vitamin C Eye cream, Restorative Niacinamide Night Cream, Exfoliating Caffeine Micro Polish, Ultralight Moisture-Boosting Oil, and Purifying Blue Clay Mask.
Product prices start at £32, while the daily essentials starter kit will cost £50.
“The Outset is where simplicity and purpose meet — clean, results-driven skincare for all,” said Foster, who has previously held leadership roles with brands such as Juicy Couture and Victoria’s Secret.
