Reebok’s Head Of Creative Direction To Exit

Reebok’s head of creative direction, Kerby Jean-Raymond, is leaving his position just a year and a half into his appointment.

His last Reebok by Pyer Moss collection is expected to be released sometime next month.

“I enjoyed my time with Reebok and wish the company well in all of its future endeavors,” Jean-Raymond said in a statement.

He was appointed as the vice president of creative direction back in September 2020 to oversee design efforts across all disciplines for Reebok as part of the company’s senior leadership team. He reported directly to the president of Reebok, Matt O’Toole.

Jean-Raymond has been recognized as a cultural force with a unique and bold artistic vision. He has been the recipient of many industry awards and accolades, including the 2020 CFDA Award for ‘American Menswear Designer of the Year’ and Harlem’s Fashion Row’ Designer of the Year.’

Prior to joining the sportswear brand, Jean-Raymond worked with Reebok for years, specifically on the Reebok by Pyer Moss collaboration.

Jean-Raymond’s departure follows Reebok’s move to lay off 150 employees by the end of February 2022, as its sale to Authentic Brands is expected to close by then. The layoffs are part of a restructuring effort.

O’Toole said the layoffs are necessary and are aimed at supporting an “entirely different operating model” under its new ownership.

Jean-Raymond’s last day will be March 1, 2022.
