Digital fashion platform Syky, which was launched by Ralph Lauren’s former digital chief earlier this year, has debuted as an incubator for up-and-coming digital designers.

The incubator called Syky Collective will give 10 selected designers access to a year-long program that will help them build skills in fashion and technology. Designers will have the support of several mentors, including executives from Calvin Klein, Vogue, creative agency Frosty and web3 companies such as Epyllion and Red DAO.

In addition, the designers will gain access to the extensive curriculum of The British Fashion Council, whose alums include successful designers such as Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Christopher Kane, Phoebe Philo, Jonathan Anderson, Simone Rocha, and Grace Wales Bonner, among others.

“Syky believes that the next generation of luxury fashion designers are global, exist at the intersection of physical and digital realms, and are leveraging technology to decentralize the fashion industry. We believe that the next generation of major luxury houses are designing in digital worlds today and that the Syky Collective will be the launchpad of many of these next-generation luxury fashion houses,” said Alice Delahunt, founder and CEO of Syky.

The incubator is accepting the first round of applications starting April 11, 2023, and plans to select the final 10 designers by early June 2023.
