Luxury fashion house Prada has appointed Gianfranco D’Attis as its new brand chief executive officer (CEO).

Through his appointment, D’Attis will lead all strategic developments for Prada across every market and will report to Andrea Guerra, who is set to take over as Prada Group CEO in January 2023.

Prior to joining Prada, D’Attis was most recently president of Christian Dior Americas. D’Attis was with the fashion house since 2019 and originally joined as a managing director.

Before Dior, D’Attis was the international managing director of Swiss luxury watch manufacturer Jaeger-LeCoultre, and before that, he was the global director at Chloé. D’Attis also previously served as the president of Swiss watch brand IWC Schaffhausen for 11 years.

The c-suite shakeup comes as Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli are both planning to step back as co-CEOs of Prada Group, which includes the fashion house of Miu Miu.

That said, their son, Lorenzo Bertelli, is planning to take over as group CEO in two years. And if the board approves, Patrizio Bertelli is looking to become chairman of the company, while Miuccia Prada is planning to stay on as creative director of Miu Miu and co-creative director of Prada alongside Raf Simons. Benedetta Petruzzo is planning to continue as the CEO of Miu Miu.
