Peloton’s Co-Founders Beta Launch Rug Company — Retail Bum
Direct-to-consumer (DTC) rug brand, Ernesta, launched by Peloton co-founders John Foley, Hisao Kushi and Yony Feng, has announced the beta eCommerce launch of its platform.
Customers can now shop for a curated selection of rugs on Ernesta.com and order them in custom sizes to fit their needs. Under the beta program, they can order up to five samples for $50 to get a feel for the materials and textures before ordering the right option for their space. The charge for ordering the samples is credited back when a final order is placed.
During the delivery process, customers can expect a white glove service, wherein a team of professionals comes in to install the rug, ensuring a hassle-free experience.
The second phase of the launch expands Ernesta’s geographic reach to 30,000 zip codes across the U.S., up from 3,700 in the alpha phase that covered the cities of Chicago, Dallas, Miami and New York.
“The success of this program confirmed that consumers are eager for more elevated rug designs, and they truly value the impact of a custom-sized, well-tailored rug,” said John Foley, CEO of Ernesta. “We’re excited to help consumers and designers transform any room with a stylish foundation for which they will be proud.”
Ernesta is initially gating access to the beta program due to the overwhelming response it received for its alpha phase. While customers can head to the company’s website to browse the selection of products, only those who are signed up for the beta program can make the purchase. The idea behind the approach is to keep up with demand without sacrificing the customer experience.
