Multi-category lifestyle brand, Parachute, has appointed retail veteran Meredith Lamont as the company’s first chief merchandising officer.

“I am thrilled to welcome Meredith to the Parachute leadership team, and I’m confident that her retail merchandising expertise and deep experience with launching new business categories will accelerate growth in our company,” said Ariel Kaye, founder and CEO of Parachute.

“Meredith has an excellent track record when it comes to successfully identifying white spaces across different industries and tracking evolving consumer trends, which will be instrumental as we look at opportunities to grow our product assortment. We look forward to Meredith sharing her expertise as we continue our mission to offer premium high-quality products in every room of the home.”

Lamont has spent 13 years specializing in home furnishings and previously served as a trend analyst and strategic advisor to multiple major retail brands, helping them identify areas for expansion across different categories in the market. Lamont has also held senior-level positions with established home and apparel retailers such as Pottery Barn, Gap Inc., and Levi Strauss & Co.

Lamont joins Parachute at a time when the company is enjoying continued momentum.

The seven-year-old brand initially just offered an assortment of bedding options. It has since significantly grown, offering Parachute-branded mattresses and products across various home categories, including bath, apparel, décor and furniture. Today, Parachute operates 13 retail storefronts across the U.S. and Canada.
