Moosejaw is getting into the resale business with the launch of a new program called ReTrail, powered by Recurate.

The program enables customers to sell items from their Moosejaw order history by uploading product pictures and descriptions and selecting a recommended price. Once Moosejaw authenticates the products, customers are then offered a prepaid shipping label.

While Moosejaw does not plan to charge a commission on sales at this time, it will offer sellers store credit which sellers can use to buy other Moosejaw products, including new merchandise, used gear or rentals.

“For over 30 years, we’ve worked hard to bring the magic of the outdoors and the gear needed to as many people as possible,” Eoin Comerford, CEO of Moosejaw, said in a statement. “Through the ReTrail program, we are making it easier for our current customers to sell their gear and more approachable for new consumers to obtain gear. This program answers the rising consumer demand to incorporate eco-conscious habits into their daily lives.”

The retailer joins several other players that have recently hopped on the resale bandwagon, including Dick’s Sporting Goods and Eddie Bauer. Walmart acquired Moosejaw in 2017 for $51 million.
