OUAI Launches Anti-Dandruff Shampoo — Retail Bum
Haircare and lifestyle brand founded by Jen Atkin, OUAI, has launched an anti-dandruff shampoo.
“Our goal with Anti-Dandruff Shampoo is to break the stigma of dandruff,” said Atkin.
“One in five people has dandruff, yet it’s still very taboo to talk about it. We are here to take the shame, embarrassment and discomfort out of having dandruff. From our formulation and clinicals, packaging, campaign, and especially fragrance, we are here to help you stop being flakey.”
The product, a first for OUAI, is made using propanediol caprylate and 2% salicylic acid — an FDA-approved ingredient. The formula is gentle and aims to reduce flaking, itching, and irritation associated with dandruff.
Additionally, OUAI notes that gentle surfactants and conditioning agents keep the hair clean, while its new Cape Town scent adds a refreshing and calming effect.
OUAI’s Anti-Dandruff Shampoo is free of SLS, SLES, parabens, phthalates, and animal testing and is safe for color-treated, chemically treated hair, keratin treatments, and Brazilian blowouts.
The brand’s study of 103 participants conducted over 28 days shows that 92% of users found their dandruff condition improved after using the product.
The OUAI Anti-Dandruff Shampoo is available at TheOUAI.com and select retailers for $36 (10 fl oz/300 ml).
