McDonald’s Appoints SVP and Chief Development Officer for US Business — Retail Bum
McDonald’s USA has appointed Tabassum Zalotrawala as its new senior vice president and chief development officer to lead its U.S. business.
The move is part of McDonald’s Accelerating the Arches strategy, which aims to grow the brand and meet customer expectations by developing new restaurants across the country.
Zalotrawala brings a wealth of experience in real estate development, having led notable efforts for several restaurant brands worldwide. Most recently, Zalotrawala served as the chief development officer at Chipotle Mexican Grill, where she was recognized for her work on one of “The Most Innovative Projects of 2020” by Fast Company. Before that, she held several leadership positions in real estate, design, and construction at Panda Restaurant Group and Arby’s Restaurant Group.
Zalotrawala has been noted as a values-based leader committed to growing businesses while creating opportunities for people, customers, and communities. She holds a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and has completed the Harvard Business School advanced management program.
For the role, Zalotrawala will relocate to Chicago and will report to Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald’s USA, beginning April 24, 2023.
