Louis Vuitton Begins Accepting Applications for 10th LVMH Prize — Retail Bum
Luxury house LVMH is now accepting applications for its 10th LVMH Prize, which recognizes up-and-coming designers and aims to raise awareness of environmental issues in design and production processes.
Designers who are under the age of 40 can nominate themselves for the prize until January 29, 2023, provided they have created at least two womenswear, menswear, or genderless collections.
The winning designer will receive a cash prize of €300,000 and access to an LVMH mentorship opportunity, focussing on sustainable development, communication, copyright, and corporate legal aspects, in addition to marketing, production, and the financial management of a brand. LVMH will also award €150,000 to the winner of the Karl Lagerfeld Prize and a one-year mentorship opportunity.
“Ten years after its creation, the LVMH Prize has become a benchmark, a key player in nurturing young designers,” said Executive Vice President of Louis Vuitton, Delphine Arnault. “It has evolved over the years: the prize reflects the developments and trends that drive fashion and, more broadly speaking, society.”
“Many influential young designers have taken part in it over the last ten years, which shows the role the prize plays in talent spotting,” he added.
