Lanvin’s Creative Director Bruno Sialelli is stepping down from his position as the brand is looking to put its focus on leather goods and accessories.

Sialelli’s departure comes alongside the launch of a new project called the Lanvin Lab, which will help the brand invite rising talents to engage in “creative partnerships.”

The Lab will be supported by a team of rotating creatives and industry experts to help the brand build out its leather business while offering ready-to-wear clothing for men and women.

Sialelli began working as the creative director for Lanvin in 2019 after working as the head of menswear at Loewe. During his tenure, he has worked under three different management teams. Most recently, he reported to Siddhartha Shukla, the brand’s general manager.

“As we reimagine the brand, embracing the values instilled in it by Jeanne Lanvin over 130 years ago, we situate the house at the vanguard of fashion and culture at a time of extraordinary and inspiring change,” Shukla told WWD.

“Our model exalts Lanvin’s rich heritage and sophistication in a uniquely modern matrix of creativity.”

Lanvin, France’s oldest couture house, was acquired by Chinese conglomerate Fosun in 2018. In December last year, the company went public via a SPAC deal, raising $150 million at a valuation of $1.31 billion.
