Lacoste Launches Netflix-Inspired Collection — Retail Bum
Netflix has teamed up with Lacoste to launch a limited-edition apparel and accessories collection inspired by several hit shows, including Bridgerton, Stranger Things and The Witcher.
The collection reimagines Lacoste’s signature crocodile on various pieces, including polos, sweatshirts, tracksuits, and caps. For example, in a nod to Queen Charlotte from Bridgerton, the Lacoste crocodile can be seen wearing an oversized wig. Meanwhile, a sweatshirt features the crocodile with the face of the Demogorgon monster from Stranger Things.
Some of the other shows that are highlighted in the collection include Elite, Lupin, Money Heist, Sex Education and Shadow & Bone.
“We think products can be a powerful medium for storytelling and partnering with Lacoste presents a unique opportunity to blend the worlds of fashion and entertainment,” said Josh Simon, vice president of consumer products at Netflix.
“This collection is a compelling and creative way for fans to express their love for our stories and characters.”
The partnership’s launch marks Netflix’s latest attempt to monetize the popularity of its TV shows and follows its previous collaboration with Walmart. Meanwhile, for Lacoste, it represents a chance to increase its appeal to younger shoppers. Last year, the 90-year-old French brand reported a record $2.69 billion in sales.
The Lacoste x Netflix collection can be bought in select Lacoste physical stores, Lacoste’s website and on the Netflix online store. It spans kidswear, womenswear, and menswear, with prices ranging from $30 to $295.
