La DoubleJ Appoints Former Chanel CEO as Chairwoman — Retail Bum
Milanese fashion house La DoubleJ has appointed Chanel’s former chief executive Maureen Chiquet as the head of its board.
In her role, Chiquet will oversee the brand’s growth efforts and help expand the company’s fashion, accessories, and homeware product lines. She will work closely with co-founders JJ Martin and Andrea Ciccoli to capitalize on the brand’s momentum and turn La DoubleJ into a global brand by optimizing marketing efforts and opening new physical stores.
Chiquet’s experience working as the global CEO of Chanel for 10 years and in other capacities with brands such as L’Oréal and Gap Inc. will be valuable in helping the brand scale.
While the company does not share its revenue numbers, its sales are said to have crossed €10 million.
“What’s amazing is this brand has a cult following,” Chiquet told the Business of Fashion. “I think the potential is enormous. We are at the very, very beginning — not that many people know what DoubleJ is, but I can tell you, as soon as they see the homeware, the accessories, the dresses, the shirts, they want them.”
