Klarna Expands Creator Platform to 45 Countries — Retail Bum
Buy now, pay later (BNPL) platform Klarna announced the expansion of its Creator Platform, which will enable retailers to match with relevant influencers in 45 markets across the globe.
The platform was first launched in the United States in October 2022 with the goal of helping retailers find the right influencers and effectively track their traffic, sales and conversion rates in real-time. Today, it offers retailers access to more than 500,000 social content creators globally.
And on the flip side, the platform also serves as a one-stop shop for influencers looking to partner with brands and find innovative products they can recommend to their followers.
“By providing access to affiliate partnerships, brand campaigns and gifting activations with the world’s leading brands, Klarna empowers creators to monetize their influence at scale and turn their attention to producing quality content,” said Martin Landen, head of social shopping at Klarna.
“At the same time, Klarna helps retailers take the guesswork out of influencer collaborations by identifying which talents fit their brand and which channels drive the best results.”
According to Statista, the global influencer marketing industry has more than doubled in size since 2019. Today, the industry is valued at $16.4 billion and is expected to grow in size.
This rapid growth has created a need for brands and retailers to have access to tools that can help them find the right talent and properly track performance metrics — a need Klarna is seeking to fulfill with its offering.
In July last year, Klarna acquired Stockholm-based SaaS platform, APPRL, to enable content creators to work seamlessly with retailers and offer an immersive and informative content-driven shoppable experience.
