Jil Sander Appoints Zegna’s Head as New Chief Executive — Retail Bum
Luxury fashion label Jil Sander has named Luca Lo Curzio as the brand’s new chief executive officer (CEO).
Lo Curzio previously served as the chief executive officer of the Ermenegildo Zegna Group’s North American business for over three years. Before that, he served as the chief marketing and digital officer for nearly four years.
He has also held several senior positions at Luxottica Group Spa, most recently serving as the head of global marketing and working in other managerial positions at Bain & Co., Danone’s beverage division and L’Oréal.
At Jil Sander, Lo Curzio will be reporting to Ubaldo Minelli, who previously worked as the brand’s chief executive before OTB acquired it in April 2021.
“Jil Sander is a brand with a very high development potential,” Minelli said. “I am sure that Luca Lo Curzio, a manager with great international experience, will be able to guide the company towards its new growth path.”
Since being acquired by OTB, Jil Sanders has emerged as a top-performing brand in OTB’s portfolio, registering a 61% growth.
OTB noted that the acquisition has helped boost opportunities for Jil Sander by enabling the brand to focus on design and product quality.
Under Lo Curzio’s leadership, co-designers Lucie and Luke Meier will continue to serve as co-designers.
