Hoka Launches Lightweight Clifton 9 Sneaker with More Cushion than Ever — Retail Bum
HOKA, a division of Deckers Brands, has launched an all-new Clifton 9 sneaker.
The Clifton 9 eliminates four grams of weight but still adds 3mm of height to accommodate an experience the brand is known for — light-and-plush rides.
The new design has been developed to serve the needs of both new and seasoned runners with the use of the brand’s early-stage Meta-rocker for a smooth entry into the gait cycle. Meanwhile, the new compression-molded EVA midsole foam is light but responsive. The sneaker’s tongue has also been reimagined with more lightweight and recycled mesh material.
“The Clifton is not only one of our most popular products,” said Colin Ingram, vice president of product at HOKA, “It’s a gateway to make running more enjoyable and accessible. We think longtime fans and newcomers to the sport will find that balanced, smooth ride so characteristic of a Clifton but be surprised by how light and responsive our newest version is.”
HOKA is owned by Decker Brands, whose portfolio also includes brands such as UGG, KOOLABURRA, Teva, and Sanuk.
Retail Bum last reported HOKA’s collaboration with Italian luxury fashion brand Moncler when the two brands launched a limited-edition mountain wear shoe called the Mafate Speed 2.
The Clifton 9 is available now on HOKA.com and at select HOKA retailers worldwide for $145.
