H&M to Expand Retail Footprint in Brazil by 2025 — Retail Bum
Fashion retailer H&M plans to expand its presence to Brazil in 2025 with the planned opening of physical stores and an online store.
The company has outlined its initial strategy to enter prominent cities in Southeast Brazil as a part of its expansion plan. With a long-term vision, H&M intends to steadily broaden its presence across the entire country in the coming years.
“We are thrilled to announce that we are opening our first store and eCommerce platform in Brazil in 2025. We’ve had good development in Latin America and see great potential in Brazil,” said Helena Helmersson, CEO of H&M Group.
Following the successful inauguration of its first store in Mexico in 2012, H&M has continued to expand its operations in Latin America. Presently, the company has a strong presence in several countries, such as Peru, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Panama, and Costa Rica.
“With a population of over 210 million in Brazil and a strong appreciation for fashion, there is considerable potential for expansion in the market,” H&M said in a statement.
To manage its operations in Brazil, the largest economy in South America, the company has teamed up with Dorben Group, which runs retail operations in 10 Central and South American countries.
