Gucci is planning to showcase its Spring/Summer 2023 collection in the Apulia region of Italy.

The show, which will take place on May 20, 2022, will be hosted at the historic Castel Del Monte citadel. The World Heritage Site was built in the 13th century by King Federick II, featuring elements from Northern European and Islamic cultures.

The unique location is emblematic of Creative Director Alessandro Michele’s vision of drawing in influences from different cultures from around the globe in his collections, as well as his choice of venues.

Aside from hosting the fashion show at the Citadel, Gucci plans to support the restoration and enhancement project that will help preserve the landmark.

Gucci’s announcement comes just days after the brand shared images from its collaboration with Major League Baseball. The collection is expected to include varsity jackets, fuzzy baseball caps as well as oversized plush hooded jackets featuring embroidered logos and will be released on April 22, 2022, on Gucci’s digital experimental, Vault, which presents viewers with the Italian luxury houses’ past, present, and future.
