Gucci Opens Hollywood-Inspired Concept Store in LA — Retail Bum
Gucci has opened a new retail concept store called the Gucci Salon in Los Angeles that is exclusively accessible to high-end clients by appointment only.
The new store is located at the intersection of Melrose Place and Melrose Avenue, a stone’s throw from other luxury stores such as Balmain, Bottega Veneta, Chloe, and Oscar de la Renta.
It has been designed to serve as the ultimate luxury destination that delivers a transformative and tailored experience and fosters creative conversations for exploration and amusement. At the salon, VIP shoppers can access curated items and exclusive products, ranging from clothing and shoes to jewelry and home decor.
The location pays homage to Hollywood with theatrical flourishes that invoke various eras of the industry. The space was designed by Gideon Ponte, who is credited with creating sets for films such as American Psycho, Buffalo ’66, Nacho Libre, and The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys, among others.
“We were inspired by film design, Los Angeles as an oil town, Hollywood, the Golden Age, the New Hollywood era [of the 1970s], the Italian designer Carlo Molino, Mann’s Chinese Theatre. I love how Hollywood still has traces of its past,” Ponte told The Hollywood Reporter. “For me, growing up in England, I remember watching…
