Gucci Makes Its Debut on JD.com — Retail Bum
Italian fashion house Gucci is expanding its reach in China by launching its official flagship store on JD.com.
The digital store offers customers an array of Gucci merchandise, including the latest ready-to-wear collections, handbags, travel essentials, footwear, jewelry, watches, and accessories for both men and women. Additionally, customers will have access to Gucci’s online client advisory service.
JD.com noted that the launch will assist Gucci in enhancing customized shopping experiences aligned with JD.com’s customer preferences. It will also help them both delve deeper into China’s distinctive digital landscape, harnessing the technological expertise of both brands to establish an innovative benchmark in online luxury shopping.
To commemorate the launch, Gucci is set to take part in JD.com’s upcoming Chinese Valentine’s Day event on August 22, 2023. As part of this celebration, the brand will present a range of gifts adorned with floral motifs, including an exclusive purse crafted specifically for JD.com’s customers.
Gucci’s debut on JD.com follows the brand’s launch on Tmall in 2020 — when many brands were finally starting to focus more on eCommerce as fewer consumers shopped in physical stores. The company joins several other luxury labels that presently sell via JD.com, including Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton, Max Mara, and Tiffany & Co.
