Gucci Debuts Luxury Travel Store in Paris — Retail Bum

Italian luxury fashion brand Gucci has opened a new store dedicated to selling luggage and other travel accessories in Paris.
The Gucci Valigeria store, a first of its kind, is spread across two floors and draws inspiration from the Belle Époque era. The store has been decorated with vintage light fixtures and elements that evoke the ambiance of a vintage rail carriage, featuring dark walnut finishes and neutral fabric tones. On the outside, the store’s windows display luggage carts.
“Gucci Valigeria is a reminder of our Florentine roots and our timeless craftsmanship,” said Marco Bizzarri, President and CEO of Gucci. “It is a symbol of our tradition, which is now being reinterpreted for the modern traveler and explorer. Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris is the ideal place to host our first Gucci Valigeria boutique, a space designed to give access to a unique world made up of continuous travel and discovery.”
“The opening of our first Gucci Valigeria boutique on Rue Saint-Honoré represents the next stage in our ongoing strategy to reinforce our leadership in the travel category,” Bizzarri said.
In the store, customers can buy weekend bags and suitcases in addition to products from Gucci’s Off the Grid line, which is made using recycled, organic, bio-based, and sustainable sourced materials.
