Google Backs Fifteen Percent Pledge Database Of Brands
The Fifteen Percent Pledge has formed a new partnership with Google Shopping in an effort to improve access and opportunity for Black business owners.
The Fifteen Percent Pledge online database is noted to include well over 1,200 Black-owned businesses. It aims to connect businesses with retailers that have committed to the Fifteen Percent Pledge to increase the diversity of their vendors.
Google will back the initiative over the next two years by offering “digital trainings and workshop events” to the founders as well as marketing support.
Aurora James founded the organization last year during the wake of George Floyd’s killing by the Minneapolis police. The organization works to create diverse spaces and encourages people in the industry to improve their diversity efforts.
Brands and retailers such as MatchesFashion, Ulta Beauty and Sephora have since partnered with the initiative.
