Etsy’s ‘Share & Save’ Program Aims to Boost Organic Traffic and Seller Success — Retail Bum
Etsy has introduced an optional initiative for its sellers known as “Share & Save,” which essentially encourages Etsy sellers to become their own affiliates.
“We’re excited to announce a brand new program that rewards you for the work you already do to drive traffic and sales to your Etsy shop,” the post said.
“We’ve made sharing trackable links super simple so you can save on fees any time you promote your shop. Any URL you share from your Shop Manager or the Etsy seller app formatted like yourshopname.etsy.com counts toward Share & Save.”
Through the new program, when Etsy sellers share a unique link to their shop or listings and a sale is made through this link, Etsy will deduct 4% from the order total instead of its usual 6.5% fee. These shareable links can be posted on various platforms such as social media, text messages, sellers’ websites, or in email marketing campaigns.
The program is entirely voluntary and does not involve any membership fees. Individuals who choose not to share their unique link or share it without generating a sale will not incur any additional costs or penalties. Standard Etsy fees will only apply to orders that do not originate from the respective unique link.
Share & Save was introduced in response to seller discontent and strikes prompted by Etsy’s transaction fee hikes in 2022.
