Eddie Bauer Launches Gear Rental Program

In an effort to make outdoor activities more accessible, Eddie Bauer has launched a rental gear program in partnership with Arrive Outdoors, a camping gear and outdoor product rental business.

The company’s rental offering is aimed at driving access to sustainable options among consumers that live in cities, smaller living spaces, or those who cannot afford to buy the gear they need or do not want to spend money on premium products for one trip.

The rental service will enable access to everything ranging from jackets to trunks to hiking boots and tents. Customers looking to take advantage of the offering can expect to rent items at a fairly discounted rate. For example, the brand’s down hoodie, which retails for $350, can be rented for $ 17.50 per day, while $180 hiking boots can be rented for $9 a day.

Eddie Bauer’s move to offer a rental service follows other outdoor retailers in the space, such as REI and Patagonia, who have similar programs in place and are also selling preloved products.

Arrive Outdoors also works with other brands such as Columbia Sportswear, Oakley, Smartwool and The North Face.
