Ebay to Launch Sneaker Swap Shop in London — Retail Bum

Online marketplace eBay is planning to offer a unique pop-up experience in London, where customers can swap their sneakers.

The Swap’ Em Out Store will be a ticketed event, allowing sneaker enthusiasts to exchange shoes valued between £100 and £300 free of charge.

The marketplace noted that the experience has been designed to consider “a behavior intrinsic to the sneaker community — swapping,” allowing customers to trade their unworn sneakers for a pair that is up to triple the value.

“We’re all about getting sneakers back on feet and hope that by encouraging people to swap and sell, we’ll keep sneakers flowing to people who truly love them,” the company said.

“By opening The Swap’ Em Out Store, people will be able to bring in those sneakers that don’t get enough love anymore, and we’ll swap them for a pair they’ll wear.”

Several attendees will also stand a chance to have their sneakers swapped for high-value sneakers, such as the Nike x Off White Jordan 1 ‘Euro,’ which sell for £4,300, and the Nike Jordan 4 Kaws, which goes for £2,400.
