Dior Turns London’s Harrods Store Into a Giant Gingerbread House — Retail Bum
Dior has transformed the façade of the Harrods store in London into an illuminated gingerbread house.
The takeover celebrates the French luxury brand’s partnership with the high-end British department store and Monsieur Christian Dior’s passion for British elegance. It features 44 unique window installations with a gingerbread backdrop, featuring Dior beauty and fragrance products and outfits designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri for the Dior cruise 2023 line.
The outside of the store has been adorned with a 17 meters high hanging central star and illuminated with ornamental installations depicting roses and other flowers.
And on the outside, shoppers can engage in two multi-experience pop-ups that have been designed to give them a Christmas fairytale-inspired experience. The first store, which has an authentic gingerbread house look and feel to it, offers leather goods and accessories such as the Lady Dior bag and the Dior Book Tote. And in the second store, shoppers can buy a variety of holiday presents, such as homeware items from Dior’s Chez Moi capsule, sweaters, tees, and shoes, FashionUnited reported.
The experience also includes an exclusive “Kingdom of Dreams” exhibition that gives shoppers a chance to learn about the tradition of making gingerbread houses and a Dior café, where shoppers can enjoy tea and Dior-inspired gingerbread cookies. The café also serves breakfast and lunch and offers a menu with great classics of French cuisine and culinary specialties with a twist of British influence.
