Staying at luxury hotels has long served as an opportunity for travelers to experience high-end personal care brands.

Hotels realize this and have sought to turn this concept into a retail opportunity by offering products for sale from brands such as Le Labo and C.O. Bigelow, which are known for their premium quality and unique fragrances.

The idea has been to allow guests to indulge in luxury beauty products during their stay while also generating revenue for both the hotel and the brand.

But many hotels are taking it a step further, going beyond offering guests fancy toiletries.

The Equinox Hotel, for example, stocks its minibars with not just cold water and mixers but also essentials for sleep, skincare and sexual wellness.

“We flip the traditional minibar on its head,” said Ara Patterson, the vice president of food, beverage, and spa at Equinox Hotels.

Dubbed RoomBar, the minibar reportedly boasts over 80 products, including supplements, proprietary teas, tinctures, sexual health products, beauty treatments, snacks, beverages, and workout wear — all in an effort to be a one-stop shop for the guest.
