Build-a-Bear Launches Faux Fur Couture Coat Collection — Retail Bum

Build-A-Bear Workshop is diversifying its offering by entering high-end fashion with the launch of its new line of teddy bear faux fur couture coats.

The company’s latest collection, which marks its foray into the fashion industry, cleverly integrates plush materials and teddy bears into its designs in line with the recent surge in playful and fanciful fashion seen on the runways of Paris and New York.

“We have cultivated wonderful relationships with our fans, understanding that with each of the 225 million furry friends that have been created since our inception, a special memory and moment is captured for that guest,” said Jennifer Kretchmar, chief merchandising and digital officer at Build-A-Bear.

Kretchmar added that from the very beginning, creative designs have been the focal point of the company’s business, and stepping into the realm of high fashion is a logical progression for the brand, which has been designing clothing and accessories for pets for over 25 years. It also gives adult Build-A-Bear enthusiasts a chance to showcase their personality through a unique collection of custom teddy bear coats.
