Brooks Running has launched a recommerce program in the United States to resell gently used footwear.

The “ReStart” initiative aims to help Brooks Running meet its sustainability objectives, which are largely focused on prolonging the lifespan of products. In addition to this, the program aims to generate revenue for future initiatives and projects.

The ReStart program has been launched in collaboration with resale solutions provider Trove, whose proprietary Recommerce Operating System today supports resale programs of numerous retailers, including Allbirds and Lululemon, and helps them deliver a seamless shopping experience to their customers.

“I’m incredibly excited to share the news of Brooks’ new re-commerce program in partnership with Trove,” said Melanie Allen, Brooks’ chief marketing officer. “Through ReStart, we can create new pathways into the brand and reach a growing community of conscientious consumers.”

The program encompasses three grade ranges, Like New, Great, and Good, across a diverse selection of Brooks’ footwear styles. Customers can enjoy prices starting at a discounted rate of 35% off the suggested retail price.

“Re-commerce allows us to keep gear on the run while supporting our aim to take responsibility for the impact of our business,” said Dave Kemp, director of corporate responsibility at Brooks. “The launch of ReStart is an important step in the brand’s long-term, science-backed approach to sustainability.”
