Bottega Veneta To Reveal Spring/Summer Collection In Motor City

Italian luxury fashion brand, Bottega Veneta, is planning to reveal its Spring/Summer 2022 collection in Detroit, Michigan.

The event, which the Kering-owned brand has dubbed Salon 03 Detroit, will be hosted on October 21 and will have an in-person audience, depending on COVID-19 restrictions at the time.

The event in the Motor City will be the third such show Bottega Veneta has hosted since the start of the pandemic. It marks the brand’s gradual departure from the Milan Fashion Week as it is now instead choosing to reveal its collections at private shows in various cities. The brand has also hosted shows in Berlin and London.

These events are often carefully orchestrated and the distribution of content is tightly controlled. For example, in October 2020, when the brand hosted its show in London, it did not allow attendees to reveal what they saw at the show until the entire collection was made public the following month.

While Bottega Veneta is pivoting away from the Milan Fashion Week, it still sees the iconic Italian city as key to its business. In April, the brand made news for signing a 12-year lease for a historical palace in the city.
