Bolt Acquires Tipser To Expand Remote Checkout Offering

Checkout and shopper network, Bolt, has acquired Tipser, a Swedish tech company that helps facilitate faster checkout at the point of discovery.

Tipser’s embedded commerce technology enables consumers to seamlessly make purchases across different channels — whether that be an online publication, mobile marketplace, price comparison site, social media platform, or search engine.

Bolt plans to build upon Tipser’s technology and leverage its publisher marketplaces, touchless merchant integrations, and headless implementation capabilities to enhance its Remote Checkout solution. The solution will help publishers who struggle to build direct relationships with customers to leverage Bolt’s one-click account creation and tap into Bolt’s network of shoppers.

The offering is turn key for merchants selling on social media platforms as they are often challenged with forming a direct relationship with customers. According to Pew Research Center, 84 percent of shoppers look for insights on at least one social media platform before purchasing. It is thus crucial for brands and retailers to effectively engage these customers on and off social media platforms.
