Blue Star Alliance has acquired the U.S. wholesale and retail business of Scotch & Soda two months after the Dutch brand went bankrupt.

The deal comes over a month after another affiliate of Bluestar bought Scotch & Soda’s worldwide licensing and distribution rights.

The company has appointed Anthony Lucia as the global president of Scotch & Soda USA and global business operations to support the acquisition.

Lucia brings more than 25 years of experience working for various U.S. and global brands, including Escada, Hugo Boss, and G-Star. He will be tasked with streamlining the brand’s physical footprint and global operations to help boost profitability.

“We are excited to welcome a veteran fashion executive to take the helm of the Scotch & Soda business,” said Bluster’s Chief Operating Officer Ralph Gindi.

“Scotch & Soda is known across the globe for its ties to Amsterdam and fine craftsmanship of trendsetting product, and we want to introduce the brand to new consumers, especially here in the U.S.”

Looking ahead, the company plans to focus on introducing the brand to new customers by focusing on marketing initiatives that can help raise brand awareness and drive engagement.

Scotch & Soda currently operates 32 stores in 21 cities in the Netherlands.
