Bluemercury Moves Headquarters to New York — Retail Bum

Beauty retailer Bluemercury is relocating its headquarters from Bethesda, Maryland, to New York City, bringing the company closer to its sister companies.

Bluemercury, which has been situated in the Washington D.C. area since its establishment in 1999, is moving its headquarters to support expansion efforts and put the company at the heart of the beauty industry, according to Bluemercury CEO Maly Bernstein.

“Many of our partner brands are based in New York, including much of our Macy’s, Inc. family, enabling even stronger collaboration with partners and within our portfolio to realize greater efficiencies and outcomes,” Bernstein said. “As we look towards the future of our brand and business, including our fleet and our team, this transition will help us unlock our next chapter of growth.”

After the departure of co-founder Marla Beck, Bernstein assumed the position of Bluemercury’s CEO approximately two years ago. Before taking on this role, Bernstein held the position of vice president of eCommerce at CVS Health.
