Bally Hires Gucci Veteran Simone Belotti As New Creative Director — Retail Bum
Swiss luxury brand Bally has named former Gucci designer Simone Belotti as its new creative director, just two weeks after it announced that Rhuigi Villaseñor is stepping down from the position after a short tenure.
“It is a great honor to be appointed Bally’s Design Director and trusted with contributing to Bally’s extraordinary legacy,” Bellotti said. “The house’s unique Swiss heritage, coupled with its beautiful history rooted in a pioneering spirit and relentless pursuit of excellence, is a powerful inspiration.”
Belotti, a relatively less-known designer, previously worked for Gucci for 16 years. Before that, he worked for many other big-name luxury labels, such as Bottega Venetta, Dolce & Gabanna and Gianfranco
“I am honored to announce Simone Bellotti’s leadership for the Bally design studio. Having already worked alongside the team during the past nine months, Simone will continue to interpret and rejuvenate our signature codes in the context of today,” said Nicolas Girotto, the CEO of Bally. “Simone’s passion and appreciation for Bally’s heritage, coupled with his extensive industry experience, will enable us to continue to execute on our vision of creating timeless and elegant products that uphold our legacy of craft and stand the test of time.”
Bellotti’s first collection for Bally is set to debut during the Milan Fashion Week in September 2023.
