American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) is looking to improve its supply chain and logistics capabilities with its latest acquisition of Quiet Logistics.

The logistics company runs a network of robotics-powered fulfillment centers in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Jacksonville, Los Angeles and St. Louis that have been designed to offer cost-efficient same-day and next-day deliveries to consumers and stores.

The $360 million all-cash deal makes Quiet Logistics a fully-owned subsidiary of American Eagle. The company will continue to work with other brands and retailers that are looking to improve on their logistics operations and capabilities.

“AEO’s unique ability to reduce delivery costs amid rising inflation is a direct reflection of the efficiencies provided by their innovative fulfillment model. Quiet Logistics has a highly experienced supply chain leadership team and I look forward to their partnership as we continue to drive operational excellence and grow the platform into a meaningful business.” said Jay Schottenstein, executive chairman and CEO, American Eagle Outfitters.

The company’s acquisition of Quiet Logistics comes just three months after it acquired Terra, which is also a last-mile logistics solution provider. The company aggregates packages from multiple shippers using its network across major metropolitan cities.

AEO currently operates store locations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Hong Kong, and it ships to 81 countries worldwide.
