Amazon Promises Sunnier Skies With Travel Deals on Prime Day — Retail Bum
Amazon is teaming up with travel booking website Priceline to offer discounts on booking hotels through its marketplace on Prime Day, scheduled for July 11 and July 12 this year.
Customers can expect to receive an additional 20% off on Priceline’s Hotel Express deals, which gives customers 60% off on hotels.
While Priceline already sells its products through ads on Amazon’s audio and streaming platforms, its Prime Day debut marks the first time Amazon has partnered with a travel company in the U.S. to extend travel benefits on one of its most significant sales day events of the year.
“We want to meet customers where they are. We know travelers are shopping on Amazon and booking travel with Priceline,” said Lesley Klein, senior vice president of marketing at Priceline.
It is worth noting that Priceline’s parent company Booking Holdings has previously extended hotel deals on Prime Day in other countries. This year, for instance, Booking.com is giving Prime members in Austria and Germany access to travel credits and discounts for travel in 2023 and 2024.
